'American Gods' just gave us the best character introduction in TV history

The characters of American Gods definitely know how to make an entrance — the first episode featured a deity devouring a man with her vagina, FFS — but it'll be hard to beat the scene-stealing debut of Orlando Jones' Mr. Nancy in episode 2.

Mr. Nancy — aka Anansi — is an African trickster god who was brought to America when his followers were transported to the New World as slaves. 

Famed for his ability to tell stories, the spider-god certainly knows how to make a compelling argument, and in his anachronistic debut aboard one such slave ship, he warns his loyal believers that, honestly, they're f—ked, thanks to the persistent virulence of racism.  Read more...
